Here's how to recover your lost or stolen phone

Did you recently lose your phone or got it stolen from you? Well, you could have gotten it back if you had read this article before, but nevertheless, you might just be needing this for future purpose. There's a feature on the android smartphone called "find my Device" by the Google LLC. It helps in locating your phone and securing it further. Here's how it works. You must have a Gmail account for it to function though and have it registered to the particular phone. In case you lost the phone already, follow the set of instructions coming right up
1.Type "find my device" on the Google webpage
2. Click on the "find my device-google",the one in purple colour. If you've never logged in your Gmail account on the particular phone you're using to search,it will ask you to log in your Gmail address. Mine's already logged in,so you see something like this
3. So you have three options as above (play sound, secure device or erase device). I'll advise you to go for the "play sound" option if you simply misplaced the phone and you are around where you think the phone is so it can ring out loud even IF it was in vibrate or silent mode.

4. "Secure device" if you think someone has had unauthorized access to the phone or you didn't add a password, pattern, fingerprint, pin or face unlock to secure it before stolen so it gives you the remote access to change the pin or password and locks it immediately. When you click on "secure device,it gives you thisπŸ‘‡πŸ‘‡πŸ‘‡
So,you have the option of locking the screen with a password and sending a message to whomever the phone is with and adding a contact number for the finder of the phone to be able to contact. Example below

4. The last option is when you have no hope of finding the phone ever again😭😭😭😭. You have to erase the device, so at least your secrets are still safe. Your browsing history (you sabi wassup naπŸ˜‰πŸ˜‰πŸ˜‰),your banking information or any other very confidential information on your phone will be completely wiped away and you can be at rest.

PS: The location of the phone is shown too,so in case it's near, you might want to carry some thugs to threaten the thief(just kidding,do whatever you want to do when you catch the thief,I no send you o).
