Man robs, rapes his victim inside a gutter in Benue

On February 9, 2019, at about 6pm, two armed robbers operating with a motorcycle behind Bem Hotels, Ankpa Quarters, Makurdi, Benue State, abducted and conveyed a female victim to Quararafa Quarters, Wadata where they raped and robbed her of a phone and the sum of N2,000. .

During investigation, one Tersoo Joseph alias Adikpo and Demenenge Gabriel Iorwa were arrested in connection with the case. .

In an interview with journalists, Joseph, said he also raped his victim in a gutter in the area. “It was me and one of my friend (at large) that raped her. It was the devil’s work,” he said.

But Iorwa, who was paraded as Joseph’s accomplice, said he knew nothing about the crime except that the suspect (Joseph) handed him a phone to sell which he sold for N20,000 and was afterward rewarded with N2,000.
