Valencia to Play Copa del Rey Final Barcelona

Valencia will face Barcelona in the final of the Copa del Rey after a 1-0 second-leg win over Real Betis on Thursday secured a 3-2 aggregate semi-final victory.

Rodrigo Moreno's goal early in the second half was enough to see off Betis at Mestalla and clinch a first final of any kind for Valencia in Eleven years.

The result completed an impressive turnaround in the tie for Marcelino's side, who trailed 2-0 after less than an hour of the first leg three weeks ago only to snatch a 2-2 draw thanks to Kevin Gameiro's injury-time equaliser.

Their edge on away goals left them in a decent position and they managed the game superbly against a Betis side who sit three points and two places above them in LaLiga but now miss out on the chance to contest a final in their home stadium.

Arsenal Prepare €5m Offer for Brazilian Teenager

Arsenal are prepared to offer €5 million (£4m/$6m) for 17-year-old Ituano midfielder Gabriel Martinelli, as per reports.

Gabriel Martinelli is also on the radar of Corinthians, Cruzeiro, Flamengo, Palmeiras and Santos, and close to obtaining an Italian passport, though it is thought he is valued at approximately €10m.

That is a figure considered beyond the means of the teams in Brazilian football, opening the door to approaches from clubs in Europe.

The teenager began his youth career at Corinthians but spent the last four years in Ituano’s academy and went through a trial at Barcelona during that time.

Martinelli also has been through a trial at Manchester United in 2017. Though he did not sign, he made a good impression and has since been closely followed by English scouts.

However, Arsenal’s board have already signed off on the move for the midfielder and are looking at advancing their offer of €5m for the teenager.

Honest Solskjaer Keeps Me Hungry : Lukaku

Romelu Lukaku says he is enjoying working with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer at Manchester United because the manager keeps the striker "hungry".

Romelu Lukaku scored twice on Wednesday to end his six-game goalless streak in the English top-flight to guide United to a 3-1 win over Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park.

Man Utd have now recorded 12 wins from 15 games since Gunnar Solskjaer was put in charge in December on an interim basis until the end of the season.

The Red Devils' resurgence under the former striker has prompted calls for United to appoint him on a permanent contract and Lukaku is the latest to voice his admiration for Solskjaer.

“I like him. He's really open, really honest in his communication, and keeps me hungry, so whenever I get a chance to play I just want what's best for the team and to help the team win.," he told The Daily Mirror.

"It is really helpful that he is a former player. If you look at my career I've always had good strikers helping me, so now I'm here with Ole I'm learning a lot, and every day is another day to learn, another day to improve and that's how I see it."

Lukaku is now on 10 Premier League goals for the season having netted for the first time since the start of January.

I Don’t Want To Call Atiku A Poor Student Of Statistics, Says Oshiomhole

Adams Oshiomhole, National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), stopped short of calling Atiku Abubakar, presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), a “poor student of statistics” on Thursday.

At a press conference held in Abuja to analyse the 2019 presidential election, Oshiomhole specifically referred to Atiku’s statement rejecting the result of the presidential election on the basis of “statistical impossibilities”, among other reasons.

He congratulated APC supporters and Nigerians in general, just as he commiserated with the families of those who lost their lives during the election, and called on government to bring those behind the violence to justice.

He went on to say Abubakar Atiku deserved to lose in the election, as he is a candidate of “doubtful integrity”.
